Manual Lymphatic drainage

Patient with severe bruising & swelling & all the bruising gone after one treatment and 1 week later

Our therapists, also known as Certified Lymphedema Therapists, have undergone 150+ hours of extra training to be certified in Complete Decongestive Therapy. This is the treatment of swelling, pain, inflammation, and bruising whether it's from a chronic condition or from a surgery. Some massage therapists claim to know how to complete manual lymphatic drainage, but have not been certified in this very effective technique.

Taping is another way to address the lymphatic system to clear swelling and bruising as seen on the left.

What makes Back to Life unique is that we strive to help people be independent by teaching them these techniques to apply between sessions to maximize the effects. As health professionals we can provide wound assessment and dressing changes if your doctor orders. Having an extra set of eyes on incisions between doctor visits helps with peace of mind and preventing complications. We work closely with your surgeon or primary doctor.

Frequently asked questions

 Q: Will insurance cover treatments?

A: It depends- In certain cases where treatment is medically necessary, clients can submit their bills to their insurance carrier for possible reimbursement if they have out-of-network occupational therapy benefits. We are also a Medicare approved provider therefore we will bill Medicare insurance plans directly for massage services if certain conditions are met. We will guide you through the process if you want to go this route.
Q: Can I use my health savings or flexible spending account?

A: Yes! We are listed as a medical service and have not had any issues with clients using their cards or submitting the paperwork.
Q: Do I need to provide any supplies?

A: Nope! We are 100% mobile and bring our massage table, linens, and other supplies. All you have to do is relax!
